According to the Association of Concert Restaurant Owners, the Piaristenkeller is possibly the oldest restaurant in Austria which is run as a concert restaurant with live music and in following a tradition which is over 100 years old, live zither music and Viennese ballads are struck up almost daily in order to relax the mind and soul during a good meal.

As a special attraction for private events, an extensive range of music is available, on the one hand, concert performances with organ, choral and solo pieces in the Basilica and on the other hand, Viennese ballads and operetta pieces as well as Austrian music for brass bands and string quartets together with music to dances waltzes to in the banqueting hall - just like in the past in the concert restaurants, music halls and music establishments during the monarchy, with concerts with the "Kings of the Viennese Waltz" Ziehrer, Lanner and Strauss - all are available to perform at your event..

Event with live performances

The Imperial and Royal Event with unforgettable musical highlights - these classics are performed just as they were originally - can be arranged by request.

Appearances by a State Opera female singer performing her operetta melodies with piano accompaniment, to the gems of Viennese music performed by the musicians of a male voice choir - string or brass quartet or the Viennese Duo, from a zither player to a magnificent concert with four Viennese violin virtuosos or finally a private classical concert with the famous Vienna Boys' Choir or Schubert Boys' Choir.

As a special highlight - Imperial and Royal Strings with a concert stage show

For private hire of the heraldic hall the Piaristenkeller offers, as a historic "Viennese concert restaurant" and as a unique and authentic venue which witnessed the birth of the classical Viennese ballad, a concert stage show with modern performers such as the internationally renowned KK-Strings.

These violin virtuosos offer a daring mix of "classical music & comedy": international hits from Vienna from the Waltz King to the legends of Falco, from Figaro to The Third Man, this is a unique performance showing the spirit of the times of young revolutionaries, both then and now, set in the ambience of the romantic monastery cellar of the former Imperial and Royal Josefstadt.
