With the band of the Deutschmeister rifle corps, appearing in historic uniforms for concerts or dance music, the event restaurant offers a march-past with rousing music and gun salute on the square in front of the baroque basilica as a highlight.

Now as then, the music of Carl Michael Ziehrer, Joseph Lanner and Strauss play a major role during these impressive receptions and brass band concerts.

History of the legendary Deutschmeister military bands:

From the outset, the huge number of highly gifted musicians within its ranks was reflected in the musical quality of the "Hoch- and Deutschmeister" military bands, from whom the following became famous as composers. Among others: Robert Stolz, Edmund Eysler and Carl Michael Ziehrer.

In 1893 the band conducted by Ziehrer revelled in its success as one of the most popular attractions at the international exposition in Chicago.

In 1910 Emperor Franz Joseph dispatched the band in person on a concert tour half way around the world as far as South America.

Even at that time it was more than just a military band; it was then and still is a messenger of peace and a representative of the Austrian brass band culture.
